I knew I wanted to make a duffel with a banana-like bottom so I began by making a mini mock-up to understand what the pattern pieces would need to look like. I then drafted a full-sized pattern for my mock-up. Then I created my mock-up. I had to remove some of the top of the gusset.
For my final bag I added extra fabric to the sides of the bag to create gathers along the gusset and facilitate a more wrinkly style. I created channels in the inside of the sides for the pull strings. I also printed my own fabric for the interior of the bag. This was an extremely hard bag to sew.
