I created my final lamp out of laser cut acrylic, bent on a line bender, wrapped in iridescent car wrap. I 3D modeled (Fusion 360) and printed (Prusa Mini) connectors to hold the wires up and hold the lamp to the top hanger. I also modeled and printed mini lamp shades for the small bulbs. I made a 4th shade out of hand cut and bent acrylic with a frosting of pink spray paint. I used copper wire to hold up the small bulbs. I wired the whole thing in parallel and included a pull chain to turn the lamp on and off.
Long Lamp
This project began with our professor asking us to bring in found objects (trash, hoarder stash of materials we had left over from other projects, things from the street). We had to create 10 compositions of at least 9 different items. The items had to be different in texture, size, shape and the compositions could not contain any parallels or perpendiculars. We then picked 3 of our favorite compositions and turned those forms into ideas for lamps.
